Inkling sends a few emails about your account whatever you choose, and product news only if you ask for it.

Emails you always get

These are account messages. They don’t depend on the product-news choice, and they have no unsubscribe link because they are not marketing.

EmailWhen it’s sent
“Confirm your email address”After you create an account, and again whenever you ask for a new link. The link works for 24 hours.
“Reset your password”When you use Forgot? on the sign-in page. The link works for 24 hours, and only once. If you didn’t ask for it, ignore it: your password won’t change.
“Your Inkling plan is now Pro”When Pro early access is switched on for your account. Similar notices tell you when your plan changes (“Your Inkling plan has changed to …”) or when access ends (“Your Pro access ended on …”). Each has a See your plan button.
“A page you shared was removed”When Buildersoft takes down a page you published. The email names no page and gives the reason; its See your shared pages button opens Settings, where you can see which page it was. The discussion itself is untouched.
“Inkling service notice: …”Pro accounts only, once per problem, when a posted Degraded or Outage status goes on for a while and the person posting it chose to email Pro accounts. See Service status.
“Your Inkling account has been removed”After you delete your account. It is the last email Inkling sends to that address.

Account emails end with “Please do not reply to this message.” To reach the team, use Contact.

Product news is optional

Product news is occasional email about the product, such as new capabilities, plans and offers. It is off unless you turn it on, and an account that never ticked the box is never sent any.

The permission is one checkbox, never ticked for you:

I agree that Inkling may analyse how I use the product to personalise what I am shown, and may send me occasional product news and offers by email.

The same box covers personalisation, so turning it off stops both. As the sign-up form puts it: “Optional. Inkling works exactly the same either way, and you can change this at any time in Settings.” The page What this covers explains both halves.

Turn product news on or off

  1. Open the account menu and press Settings. The Account panel opens first.
  2. Under Profiling and marketing, tick or clear the checkbox.
  3. The line under it confirms the change: “Turned on.” or “Turned off. No further marketing email will be sent.”

There is no confirmation step and no question about why. On later visits the line shows when you gave or withdrew the permission.

Unsubscribe from an email

Every product-news email ends with two links: Unsubscribe from product news and Email preferences.

  1. Press Unsubscribe from product news.
  2. A page opens under the line “One link, and product news stops.” and unsubscribes you straight away. You don’t need to sign in, and nothing asks why.
  3. You’ll see Unsubscribed: “You’re unsubscribed from product news. Account messages still arrive.”

The link withdraws the same permission as the Settings checkbox, personalisation included. If the page says This link did not work or That link is incomplete, clear the checkbox in Settings instead.

What Inkling doesn’t track

  • Opens and clicks are not recorded. Inkling’s emails carry no tracking pixel, no images and no rewritten links.
  • Product news says who sent it: Inkling by Buildersoft LLC, with a postal address.

Good to know

  • Emails come only to the address on your account. To ask for a different address, send a Privacy request from Contact.
  • Withdrawing the permission stops it from then on. It doesn’t undo what happened while it was on.
  • Plan notices say what changed, never why.
